Urban Hydroponic Growers Union (UHGU) was founded in January 2009 by Charles and Zach with the goal of bringing indoor hydroponic plant culture out of the shadows. Many urbanites are frustrated with the limitations of seasonal porch gardening. Many of us would like to “go back to our roots” and have a home garden like generations of Americans before us. As our friends at the Ultimate Hydroponic Gardening Store like to say, plants grown hydroponically are “Bigger, faster, and stronger” not to mention pesticide free and higher in life sustaining vitamins and minerals. Unfortunately many people are discouraged by the number of questions that must be answered before planting that first crop. That is where UHGU comes in. We do all the leg work for prospective gardeners, answering questions like “What kind of hydroponics system is best for me?” , “What equipment do I need to start?”. In addition to helping find the best solution for you we offer in home custom built solutions. We set it up and guide you through every step of getting started right through that first harvest. Once you get the hang of producing you can join the CO-Op and trade the excess produce that you grow for a wider variety of crops.
